A. They are all equal in their essential-ness. You won't have a show at all if one of the elements is missing.

Need help for Artistic plateaus and how to overcome them?
Q. I've hit a rut in my artistic abilities, one that has lasted for about two years. I've been drawing a great deal, since practice makes perfect, but I haven't been able to improve upon my abilities. Does anyone have any ideas/excercises that can help me artistically challenge myself and eventually improve my skills?

A. Read the book "The Artists Way" by Julia Cameron. It's a workbook that will help with the issues you are facing. Something that I do is go to differnt art shows and galleries or look at other art online. Sometimes this can spark an idea and help get the creative juices flowing again.

A. I don't think there is one best gymnastics place in the US at this point in time. I think that different coaches have different strengths and you have to find the right match for each individual gymnast. Otherwise we'd have a national program like most other countries do.

A. Apparently you don't seem to realize that most pictures are made in the image processor rather than in the camera. A cheap camera coupled with the latest version of Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop will work just as well, or better, than an expensive digital camera... if you know how to use the programs

What kind of camera would be good for serious artistic photography?
Q. I want to get into serious photography, and I'm looking to buy a camera that is good for artistic photography (macro, portrait, landscape) but would also like a casual shot capability (family trips.. etc.) I had my eye on the Sony DSLR a350. Does anyone have it? What do you think of it? (and if you don't have it) What would YOU recommend for a good digital camera? DSLR or not? Good brand? Any input is great! :)

A. Check these out (links to owner reviews, professional reviews, and detailed specs are on the page): I would go for any of these three, but I would prefer the Samsung GX-20 simply because its dust and weather resistant seals make it more suitable to my own personal needs. Plus it has (very slightly) better features than the other two. :D:D:D

A. Not sure I understand your question... For the person problem why not trace a few figures so you can see how the lines work together. Get a wooden poseable model and use it for body references and flexture. Find idea pictures and reference pictures and just keep practicing. Humans are a hard thing to draw and they take practice, some never do find the magic in human form but their art sings in other ways. May you be blessed.

How can I let my artistic mind take over when I'm looking at things things?
Q. Whenever I have a dream or read a book, I never see the people's faces and everything is foggy or giving the appearance that it's behind a really dirty window. I think this is because I'm not very creative, good at art, and I always use my logical mind when I see things. I'm brilliant at maths and even though I'm keeping art in school, feel I'm not good at it. I'm a perfectionist when I draw or paint anything. I would like to see the world the way an artist does, with lines and shapes. Is there anything that will help train my mind to look at things in the visual, artistic mode with lines, shapes, lights and darks?

A. There is a book that would be perfect for you :] It's called: "The Natural Way to Draw" by Kimon Nicolaides. It's for teaching you how to remove the information *about* an object and instead see it as an artist sees it. The contours, light/dark, etc. An easier book is "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. It teaches easier versions of the above techniques so it may be better to start with, but you'll eventually want to read Nicolaides' book. I've used both books and found them to be useful (working as an Illustrator now).

A. The choreographer writes (creates) the dance the same as a composer writes (creates) music. Your friend is correct in stating that she is acting as the artistic director. She is managing and directing the company even though she might be aiding in choreography. The dance mistress, by the way, is one who conducts classes for the company and rehearses them. You both sound as if multi-tasking. You may wish to list yourselves with more than one title. For instance if your friend co-choreographed a dance she should be given credit. If you designed the lighting for a particular number you can list that as your credit with that dance number. Example: dance of flying pigs - choreographed by Suzie Wong and GIn Lee, lighting by Suzie Wong … [cont.]

What kind of personality usually works out best as a partner for an intelligent, artistic, introverted male?
Q. Esoteric, artistic, smart, shy men usually do best and are happiest with what kind of woman.
Asked by Rita K - Tue Feb 19 19:01:53 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There is no "best" fit. It's too individual to solve the equation that way! Everyone does best with a partner who doesn't try to change him/her. Who is trustworthy. Who is willing to learn to work out differences so there is fairness. Who is willing and able to be interested, stay interesting, and commit. To me shared character traits are much more important than shared personality traits, like you've listed. We can adapt to another's personality--he likes tennis; she doesn't. So what? He is disciplined and will work towards a shared goal; she isn't and won't. Very BIG deal! A similarly shared capacity for discipline, ethical behavior, sense of moral responsibility, and self-respect are really the measures of how a person will work out… [cont.]

A. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours: I think a blue like "mineral crystal" (# 7192) from their SandScapes faux finish collection might look good. And the sand texture would add another interesting element to the room.

A. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like.
