Does anyone know the words of this old Roman Catholic hymn?
Q. As a child it was my 90 yr old dad' favourite - The Bells of the Angelus. I am 60 and I too learned it at school. It is the same tune as the hymn we know now as Immaculate Mary I have searched loads of web site but nothing.. Under is the first few lines. Hope it can jog someone's memory. Thank you. A. It's an abolitionist anthem. A quick search turned up this site, no idea of writer's credentials, but if there is one, there are probably more and likely with opposing interpretations... I searched 'analysis battle hymn republic'
